Pastor Aubrey Mambwe shared this story from Zambia. This is Madalitso School, a public charter school serving orphans and vulnerable children—young lives shaped by loss, instability, and hardship. In this environment, learning is often difficult, discipline is a daily challenge, and hope can feel distant.
It was here we introduced the Light of the World Bible-Based English Program for Grades 1–4 last year. But what happened next went far beyond our expectations. From the very first lesson, the children responded with joy and excitement.
They didn’t just like the lessons—they loved them.
And then something remarkable happened. Every time the lesson reached the Bible story portion, the children began to applaud.
Not because they were told to.
Not because it was expected.
But because the stories touched something deep in their hearts.
Week after week, the applause continued.
These were children who had known abandonment, grief, and struggle—yet here they were celebrating stories of faith, love, hope, and purpose. In those moments, it became clear: These lessons are doing more than teaching English. They are healing hearts.
